Priority areas of CEPS activities on climate change are carbon markets (CEPS Carbon Market Forum) and the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the future regime (European Climate Platform), and sectoral approaches.
The focus of our research is on the design of EU climate change policies to ensure the progressive engagement of the EU’s main international partners. The key challenges is to think about how EU initiatives, such as the EU’s greenhouse gas Emissions Trading System, could foster the involvement of the broadest possible number of countries.
In addition to the research activities, CEPS has been both organising meetings and actively participating in numerous conferences and workshops.
CEPS hosts the focal point of the RINGOs network, the official constituency of Research and Independent Organisations to the UNFCCC.
